Allyson Lamb & Eagle Rock claim World Wetlands Day Grand Prix at Boneo Park

The Browns Sawdust World Wetlands Day Jumping Championships (24-26 January) wrapped up on Sunday at Boneo Park with the Browns Sawdust Grand Prix (150 – 155cm – art 273.3.3.1) held this afternoon in very pleasant conditions.

Victory went to Ally Lamb and her own 16-year-old KWPN stallion Eagle Rock (by Berlin, out of Arisinaa by Eurocommerce Vancouver), with this combination producing the only double clear of the class. They stopped the clock in Round 2 at 48.70 seconds.

Eagle Rock was bred by Jan Breukink in the Netherlands and imported into Australia in 2015 as a young horse; he has been with Ally since he was a six-year-old and is a regular Australian World Cup qualifiers and Grand Prix classes around the country.

Phillip Lever and Billionaire NZPH finished second after having a rail down in Round 2, which they completed in the quickest time of 47.56. Also with a single rail in Round 2 was third-placed Brook Dobbin and Devos GP (48.68), and fourth-placed Kate Rowe with Tulara Connekta (50.98). Rounding out the top five was Tori Stuckey with Jaybee Ballon Dor, who had two rails in Round 2 to finish on 8 faults (52.05).

In other classes today, Kate Beadel and Charlotte Elmare won the Fleming’s Nurseries Future Stars (130 – 135cm – art 238.2.2) as the quickest of three double clears in a time of 50.34). Second place went to Mia Shortt and Cavalli Park Quintabell (52.85), ahead of Mark Lindh and Kasbah (58.02).

Olivia Price and Lafayette MVNZ won the Mick Pritchard Pty Ltd Young Rider Championship (130cm – art 238.2.2); the Antares Junior Championship (120cm – art 238.2.2) went to Jack Barker and Tulara For Quinar; and the Children’s Championship (100cm – art 238.2.2) was won by Sunday Borracl riding Get Rhythm.

Off the track horses were also in action today, with Miss Delfyne winning the Racing Victoria Off The Track Championship (110cm – art 238.2.2) for Darcy Wade.

On Saturday, Isabelle Jameson and Levi Xtreme won the Leader Equine Mini Prix (140 – 145cm – art 238.2.2) as the quickest double clear (42.36). Mark Lindh and Charamae finished second on 43.54, with Paul Brent on Fontaine Blue VDL (44.46) and Dakota Pinton on PSS Chantilly (46.17) finishing third and fourth respectively after both had single rails in the jump off.

Sienna Holdsworth-Rose and Heartline NZ won the Speed Championship (120 – 125cm – art Table C), while Lynette Jackson and Fortissimo II won the Amateur Championship (115cm – art 238.2.2).
