Twenty-year-old Zoe Brown was one of 41 entries to contest the Marina Azevedo-designed course for the Adequan Grand Prix at Desert International Horse Park, and one of seven to navigate it without fault. From there, the race was on in front of the crowd at Desert Circuit 8.
Zoe went on to produce one of three clears in the jump-off aboard Unchained 2, an 11-year-old Holsteiner gelding (by Uriko out of Anka VIII, by Quidam de Revel) owned by Sophia Siegel and trained by Zoe’s dad, Harley Brown.
Zoe and Unchained 2’s time of 55.561 seconds was enough to place second behind British rider Sameh El Dahan riding WKD Toronto in the Adequan Grand Prix, and also meant they claimed the win in the $5,000 YETI U25, held concurrently.
“It was my first week riding [Unchained] and we went straight out in the Grand Prix with a nice placing, so I am very happy with the result,” shared Zoe.
