There are plans for the Australian Dressage Championships to regain CDI classification in 2025, with the event announcing last week that a CDI-W will be included in next year’s event subject to FEI approval.
“Subject to approval from the FEI, a CDI-W will be included in the Australian Dressage Championships in 2025! Thank you Equestrian NSW and Dressage NSW for supporting this event,” reads the announcement on the event’s Facebook page.
The 2025 Australian Dressage Championships are scheduled for 16-19 October at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre.
The 2023 edition of the event at Boneo Park in Victoria was a CDI-W and also a qualifying event for the Paris Olympics. In 2022, the event was a CDI3*. The 2021 and 2020 Championships were cancelled due to the pandemic, while prior to that in 2019 the event hosted a CDI-W.
At least another five CDIs next year in Australia
Alongside the Australian Dressage Championships, at least another five CDIs are planned for 2025 in Australia, beginning with Willinga Park CDI3* (20-23 February), and then followed by Dressage & Jumping with the Stars CDI-W (20-23 March), Sydney CDI3* (30 April – 3 May), Brisbane CDI3* (18-21 September), and the Victorian Dressage Festival (4-7 December).
A press release last month stated that Boneo Park is also planning CDIs for June and November.
Still to come this year, the 2024 Victorian Dressage Festival (5-8 December) is a CDI-W and will host the FEI Dressage World Cup Pacific League Final.
