Dancing Star De Rock 1 Z waltzes to 2026 P.S.I. DJWTS Young Jumping Horse Champion of Champions

The final day of the 2026 P.S.I. Dressage and Jumping with The Stars has come to a close with new champions crowned and breeders, riders and spectators inspired for the future of Australian jumping.

Elvorado Ter Putte Z crowned Four-Year-Old Jumping Champion

Jennifer Wood and her nomination of Elvorado Ter Putte Z claimed the Four-Year-Old Young Jumping Horse Championship in convincing style. The bay gelding showed his class on Saturday to win the final round of competition on a score of 89.77, awarded an 8.7 for technique, 9.0 for scope and 9.2 for ride. After finishing first in Round One and third in Round Two, Saturday’s final round win set the duo firmly atop the overall Championship leaderboard.

Bred by Ter Putte in Belgium, Elvorado Ter Putte Z was imported as a colt by rider and owner Jennifer Wood. By Eldorado out of the Diamont de Semilly-sired dam Lady-A Ter Putte, ‘Elvis’, as he is known around the stables at Boree Equine, impressed the judges with his scope, technique and potential as a future grand prix contender.

Last to ride in the seeded draw, Jennifer and Elvorado Ter Putte Z entered the arena and produced a foot perfect jumping round as the crowd watched on. Judge Jeff McVean commented on the performance, “That was a beautiful round. He went out and jumped an exhibition today, you rode him super and he looked very flash. Very nice jumps, well done.”

During the prizegiving ceremony, Jennifer shared a bit more about Elvorado Ter Putte Z. “He is very green, this weekend is only his third show. I did a couple of training shows and then went bush with him. He is a good boy and this weekend he has done very good boy things.”

Runner up Four-Year-Old Young Jumping Horse Champion went to Mt Robinsons Qasting and Tanner Robinson, who finished second in Saturday’s final round with a score of 85.2 to see the pair finish second in the overall standings.

Dancing Star De Rock 1 Z untouchable in Five-Year-Old Championship

Dancing Star De Rock 1 Z proved unbeatable in the Five-Year-Old Young Jumping Horse Championship, winning all three rounds of competition to be crowned the clear winner of the age group. On Saturday the stallion was awarded a huge score of 93.2, with a 9.5 for technique, 9.6 for scope and 9.5 for ride, the three judges were extremely impressed with the flashy Zangersheide chestnut stallion.

Bred by Paul Lavers and Hugette Exelmans in the Netherlands, Dancing Star De Rock 1 Z is by Dieu Merci Van T&L out of the Dominator 2000-sired dam, Dancing Margrit De Rock 1 Z. Owned in partnership by Lever Equestrian and Georgia and Paul Solomon, Dancing Star De Rock 1 Z was recently imported from Europe and is already making waves on Australian soil.

Speaking on Dancing Star De Rock 1 Z during the prizegiving, Frida had nothing but glowing remarks for the young stallion who has settled beautifully into Australian life at Lever Equestrian. “He has the brain, the scope and the talent for [top level competition]. A big thank you to Paul and Georgia for trusting us with him, we are very, very excited.”

Of their round and result on Saturday, judge Vicki Roycroft was very complimentary. “He looked spectacular. We are all having an argument here over who gets the privilege of riding him later but unfortunately two of us are too old!” she joked.

Josh Collins and Shimona Fraid’s Dourkhan’s Dream finished Five-Year-Old Young Jumping Horse Reserve Champion after a very consistent three days of competition, with two thirds and a second. Dourkhan’s Dream, another young Zangersheide stallion, finished the final round with a score of 90.73, with a 9.0 for technique, 9.2 for scope and 9.0 for ride.

Australian breeding shines with RBH Carnac crowned Six-Year-Old Jumping Horse Champion

Stuart Brennan and his nomination of RBH Carnac impressed the three judges all weekend to finish atop the leaderboard in the overall championship. Whilst RBH Carnac finished sixth in Saturday’s final round of competition with an unlucky fence down, he impressed the judges enough over the first two rounds of competition to finish on the highest accumulative score over the three rounds to be crowned Six-Year-Old Young Jumping Horse Champion.

Bred and owned by Russell and Bernie Hearn at RBH Park, RBH Carnac is by Charlemagne Ego Z who resides at Australia’s Finch Farm. Out of imported Perigueux sired mare RBH Paris, RBH Carnac has certainly inherited his bloodline’s impressive scope.

A relatively new partnership (Stuart has only had the ride for three months), they have certainly proved to be a quality match. On RBH Carnac Stuart shared, “He is so cool and such a dude. He is a very kind horse and lovely to have around. My wife does flatwork on him a couple of days a week and he is great to have around the stables with our two young sons. Thank you to Bernie and Russ for giving me the ride.”

Chloe Latham and Kellogs finished Six-Year-Old Young Jumping Horse Reserve Champions after jumping up the scoreboard with wins on both day two and day three of competition. Bred by Chloe Latham and Melinda Hughes, the blingy chestnut mare recorded a score of 91.0 on Saturday from the three judges.

A win for the Irish in the Seven-Year-Old Jumping Championship

Gemma Creighton and GSS Catjang claimed the Seven-Year-Old Young Jumping Horse Championship by just .80 ahead of Ally Lamb and Diatava DP.

Bred in Ireland by G Stewart and owned by Linda Huddy, GSS Catjang was purchased last year sight unseen. By Copycat Z out of the Kashmir van Schuttershof-sired dam Jana, Linda Huddy’s trust in his potential and breeding has certainly paid off with the flash chestnut proving he has what it takes to be a star this weekend. On their performance on Saturday, Gemma shared, “I was really happy with how he jumped today, he definitely likes the bigger jumps. He has jumped some futurity classes and we are really excited about him.”

It was an exceptionally close class with Diatava and Ally Lamb finishing as Seven-Year-Old Young Jumping Horse Reserve Champions on a score of 250.10 behind Gemma and GSS Catjang’s 250.90. Bred at Denison Park by Ally and Andrew Lamb, the Emerald-sired Diatava DP wowed judges and onlookers alike with his scope and power to claim Saturday’s final round of competition on a score of 91.93.

Dancing Star De Rock 1 Z waltzes to Champion of Champions

With four exceptional horses returning to contest the Young Jumping Horse Champion of Champions, the three judges certainly had their work cut out for them deciding who would take home the ultimate honours. As guest international judge Jake Lambert (NZL) put each of the young horses through their paces, crowds watched on to see how the four horses would respond to a different rider.

Whilst all of the young stars impressed onlookers and judges alike, it was Dancing Star De Rock 1 Z who took home the ultimate honour of being crowned the 2026 Young Jumping Horse Champion of Champions.

Of his ride on Dancing Star De Rock 1 Z Jake shared, “It was an absolute pleasure to ride a horse so well produced. The power is all there and I think he is going to have a very big future in the sport.” As judge Vicki Roycroft watched on from the ground, she said, “I want to chuck [Jake] off so I can have a turn!”. Dancing Star De Rock 1 Z has certainly acquired quite the fan club this event!

Burrowa Baloo crowned Four-Year-Old Young Jumping Pony Champion

Tayla Anderson’s nomination of Burrowa Baloo was crowned Four-Year-Old Young Jumping Pony Champion, finishing atop the leaderboard on a final tally of 156.34. Bred by Burrowa Stud and owned by rider Tayla Anderson, Burrowa Baloo is by Burrowa Achilles Gold out of an Abergavenny Achilles-sired dam, Burrowa Alethia. Four-Year-Old Jumping Pony Reserve Champion went to Megan Joyce and Peaches N Cream, an eye-catching palomino mare owned and bred by Cindy Morrison.

Calveston Anastasia and Neka Paterson claim Five-Year-Old Young Jumping Pony Championship

Neka Paterson claimed the Five-Year-Old Young Jumping Pony Championship aboard Calveston Anastasia, finishing Saturday on a tally of 161.33. Bred by Tracie Borg and owned by Neka Paterson, Calveston Anastasia is by Glenormiston Turlough out of Wynchwood Graceful Swan.

Five-Year-Old Young Jumping Pony Reserve Champion went to Boonahburra Freedom campaigned by Ivy Williams with a total score of 132.50.

Assenmachers Diamond Sugar crowned Six-Year-Old Young Jumping Pony Champion

Assenmachers Diamond Sugar and Tara Rodgers claimed the Six-Year-Old Young Jumping Pony Championship with a final point tally of 161.83 ahead of runners up Garry Kermond and Elm Tree Obama, who finished on 149.83. Bred by Silke Assenmacher and owned by Vicki Chidgey, Assenmachers Diamond Sugar is by Heitholmes Dance Away out of Golden Sugar A.

Assenmachers Diamond Sugar sparkles in Young Jumping Pony Champion of Champions

Assenmachers Diamond Sugar also took home the ultimate Young Jumping Pony honours and was crowned the 2026 Young Jumping Pony Champion of Champions.

As judge Samantha Richardson put Assenmachers Diamond Sugar through her paces with fellow judges Sharon Chester and Helen Heagney watching on, the stunning cream mare impressed judges and spectators alike.

Of the test ride, judge Samantha Richardson shared, “Assenmachers Diamond Sugar was a beautiful pony to ride. They were all lovely ponies. It was great to ride educated ponies who will have a wonderful future in the sport.”
