Day 2 at Sydney Summer Classic sets up for thrilling finals

Day 2 of the Summer Showjumping Classic CSI-W delivered an exhilarating showcase of jumping talent at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre. The program featured strong competition across several key qualifying classes, setting the weekend up for strong finals.

1.30m Height Class (Two-Phase Special)

The first class of the day, the 1.30m was won by Allillie, ridden by Roy Andrew Inglis, with a sharp jump-off time of 38.210 seconds. Cody Tincknell and Mountain View Our Balou were close behind, completing their round in 38.380 seconds. Charlie Brister aboard Bellhaven Cordino claimed third place, finishing the jump-off in 40.320 seconds.

Winning Group Futurity Qualifier 1.30m (Two-Phase Special)

For the younger horses aged 6, 7, and 8 years old, this class provided a platform to get out into the Magic Millions Main Arena. Billy Raymont dominated the event, taking first and second place with Nixstar and Jaheta Hazel, posting jump-off times of 37.660 and 39.480 seconds, respectively. Rod McQueen and Oaks Sierra rounded out the top three with a time of 39.550 seconds.

Magic Millions 1.45m–1.50m Height Class (Two-Phase Special)

The stakes were raised in the 1.45m–1.50m class, where Billy Raymont once again delivered, securing first place with Caprino after a blistering jump-off time of 40.630 seconds. Amelia Douglass and Quel Filou 16 followed in second, completing their jump-off in 45.440 seconds. Raymont also took third place aboard Tulara Dakchico, highlighting his exceptional form throughout the day.

Mini Prix Qualifier 1.40m (Two-Phase Special)

As the gateway to the weekend’s major events, the Mini Prix Qualifier was packed with top-tier performances. Samantha Dernee and Laurel Glen Quintessence set the pace and followed her win in the 7yo on Day 1, taking first place with an impressive jump-off time of 28.790 seconds. Billy Raymont continued his outstanding day, securing second place with Nixstar in 30.670 seconds. James Paterson-Robinson claimed third with Oaks Evergreen TS, completing the jump-off in 31.880 seconds.
