Jessica Rae has continued her Equestriad success, claiming the CCI4*S over the weekend at Bicentennial Equestrian Park in Camden, NSW with Fifth Avenue.

Jessica and Fifth Avenue – a rising 16-year-old mare by Warmblood stallion Raphael, out of an Irish Sport Horse cross Thoroughbred mare named Tia Breeze – scored 37.7 in the dressage to then jump clear in both the cross country and showjumping. They added just 9.2 time faults to their dressage score to finish on 46.9, just ahead of Emma Mason and KPH Kingfisher on 47.5. Third place when to Teegan Ashby and her Thoroughbred Magic Mushroom TAE (49.9).

Earlier this year at the May edition of Equestriad, Jessica claimed the CCN4*S with Regardez Moi gelding Rascal. At that event, Fifth Avenue was actually the quickest on cross country to place a very close fourth.

As Jess told Equestrian Life during an April 2022 interview, Fifth Avenue originally came to her to be sold after the mare had bucked her previous owner off and broken her pelvis.

“She was quite hot, but she was an amazing jumper – and my partner at the time, who is a show jumper – kept wanting to buy her and I kept saying ‘No, the brain’s not good enough, she just won’t settle down and I just don’t want to do it’. He managed to convince me that we should buy her and I’m so glad he did because she has just been the most amazing horse for me,” said Jess at the time.

Success for the Roses

The CCI3*S at Equestriad went to Shane Rose and Holy Moses, who added just 1.2 time faults to their dressage score to finish on 31.7. Shane and Niki Rose, along with their hardworking team, are of course integral to the running of Equestriad.

Second place in the CCI3*S went to Andrew Barnett and Oscar Park Deluge (34.5), while Chris Height and Lucky Contender (35.3) finished third.

Lamoza Velisha and Call Me Cooley won the CCI2*S on their dressage score of 23.6, ahead of Shane Rose and Time To Cooley (29.3) and Niki Rose with Dreamrush (31.9).
