Founded in the 1990s by show jumper Melissa Froesch, Glenara Park Stud in Broadford, Victoria has long been breeding quality jumpers – and with two coloured stallions now standing, there’s no shortage of bling come breeding season!
Over the years, Melissa’s horses have been crowned Champion of Champions at Jumping with the Stars, with both Melissa and other riders in the saddle, and have also won at the Australian Showjumping Championships.
In fact, Glenara-bred horses have competed and won all over Australia – and even internationally. “I have horses I’ve bred for jumping competing overseas, including two coloured ones!” explains Melissa, who herself has ridden on Australian jumping teams both on home soil and abroad in the past.
Melissa says she’s always been fascinated by colour, and from when she began riding at age two, she was often in the saddle of coloured horses. “So in the 1990s when I started breeding from my top jumping mare via embryo transfer, I did put some colour into my lines,” she explains.
“Now at Glenara Park, I have a lot of mares that have jumped 1.60m tracks, daughters of mares that have jumped 1.60m tracks, daughters of Australian Showjumping Champions, daughters of mares that have jumped at the World Equestrian Games, and imported mares from 1.60m jumping damlines.
“With this being the case, I feel I can try and establish some of the best coloured show jumping bred horses Australia and perhaps the world has ever seen… that’s my aim! It’s very much about the damline but also about the sire as well.”
On the topic of sires – and coloured ones at that – Glenara Park has two stallions standing at stud this season:
Euro Sport Dimero NM Z
Bred in Belgium, Euro Sport Dimero NM Z is an eight-year-old, 16.3 hand coloured stallion is by the world number one jumping stallion, Diamant de Semilly, and is in fact his only coloured, imported son in Australia.
Euro Sport Dimero NM Z is out of Calimera Z (Casper Van Erpekom X Querlybet Hero).
Casper Van Erpekom – who carries the blood of Carthago, as well as being closely related to the famous coloured 1.60m jumping stallion Utah Van Erpekom – was purchased by the renowned Studfarm Overis (breeder of numerous 1.60m jumpers) as a ‘very promising’ three-year-old. Soon after, he sadly passed away and his untimely death meant he only sired approximately 20 foals. The oldest of those was Grand Prix winner and 1.60m jumper, Casanova Van Overis Z.
Querlybet Hero is a CSI5* 1.60m jumper by Olympic gold medallist Baloubet Du Rouet, out of the famous 1.60m jumping mare Narcotique De Muze (Darco). Querlybet Hero has been named ambassador of the BWP (Belgian Warmblood studbook) thanks to the quality of his progeny.
From ES Dimero NN Z’s small but high performing direct dam line come the CSI jumpers, Kriskras DV (1.60m), who competed on the Global Champions Tour; Gucci DV (1.50m); and Heros DV (1.40m). Approved stallions include Eddy Wally, Socrates, Farco Van Vriesput, Obi Wan, and three-quarter brother to ES Dimero NN Z, Nutella Duo NN Z. Nutella Duo was also a finalist in the 2018 British Five-Year-Old Championship and competes to 1.30m. He is the first son of Calimera Z.
ES Dimero NN Z has been DNA tested; he is WFFS negative and carries one copy of the Tobiano gene, meaning he has a 50% chance of passing the gene to his offspring.
ES Dimero NN Z has an outstanding temperament, which he is passing on to his offspring. He’s a super type with and outstanding jump!
ES Dimero NN Z will be available by fresh AI or chilled service. As we have our own top jumping mares to use with him over, his book will be limited to the number of outside mares for this 24/25 season.

Número Uno
Bred by Tresaison Stud Spotted Sport Horses in the UK, Número Uno is a 17-year-old, 16.2 hand registered Knabstrupper – otherwise known as a Danish Spotted Warmblood. He is by Nobody’s Harlequin out of Skovlys Dana (Xanthos).
Número Uno is a rare white-born/few-spot (homozygous) stallion and was awarded Champion Foal at his KNN Grading in the UK against strong competition at only 11 weeks old. He gained a score of 8 overall and a 1st Premium.
Not only can he move, he can also jump and as such is a proven sire of both jumping and dressage horses. Número Uno has a super temperament, which he is passing on to his foals!
He has been DNA tested and is WFFS negative and homozygous: this means he has two copies of the LP gene and will pass a copy on to all offspring.
