As a large crowd gathered ringside on Saturday at Dressage and Jumping with the Stars at Werribee, twenty six of Australia’s best competitors took to the Yandoo Park Arena to contest the CSI1*-W World Cup, sponsored by City of Wyndham.

With the top twelve invited to the second round of competition, all eyes were on the four combinations who had recorded clear rounds over the testing Gavin Chester-built first round track. With two rides in the jump off (both coming into the second round carrying zero penalties), Madeline Sinderberry and her World Cup nominated horse Camie Z were the first of the clear rounds to contest the track. They rose to the challenge and jumped straight to the top of the leaderboard with 0-0/53.21. Knowing a quick clear round was possible, Madeline then followed suit on her second nomination of GC Chicane to slot into second position (0-0/57.52).

Last weekend’s Shepparton World Cup winners, Sarah McMillan and Tyrone, chased down Madeline’s time, but an unlucky rail at the last saw them finish in third place (0-0/52.58).

It was certainly an exciting finish for Madeline Sinderberry. Camie Z has only recently returned to competition after some time out of the sport. Madeline shared, “Both my horses are extraordinary. Camie Z always gives 200%, she is such a fighter. GC Chicane is a younger horse I’ve only had for six months or so and is a big one for the future.”
