With the First Qualification for 4, 5 and 6-year-old horses complete at the 2024 FEI/WBFSH World Breeding Dressage Championship for Young Horses, it’s time for the First Qualification for 7-year-old horses – where Australia’s very own Maree Tomkinson is set to compete with her mare Imagine II.

Imagine II is an Oldenburg mare by Ibiza out of Shanghai (St Moritz) and bred by Gerhard Dustmann in Germany.

Wednesday & Thursday’s results

First Qualification for 4-year-old horses

Leading the field was Proud James (Jameson RS2 x Johnson TN), ridden by Maxi Kira von Platen from Germany. Proud James achieved scores of 8.7 in Trot, 8.3 in Walk, 8.6 in Canter, 8.4 in Submission, and 8.7 in Perspective, resulting in an overall percentage of 85.400%.

In second place was Ein Quantchen Gluck (Escamillo x Quaterback), with Svenja Grimm representing Chile. Ein Quantchen Gluck earned scores of 8.5 in Trot, 8.4 in Walk, 8.2 in Canter, 8.7 in Submission, and 8.5 in Perspective, achieving an overall percentage of 84.600%.

Completing the top three was Paparazzi (Vitalis x Fürstenball), ridden by Marten Luiten from the Netherlands. Paparazzi scored 8.0 in Trot, 8.7 in Walk, 8.2 in Canter, 8.3 in Submission, and 8.5 in Perspective, with an overall percentage of 83.400%.

First Qualification for 5-year-old-horses

Leading the pack was Red Viper (Romanov x Sir Sinclair), ridden by Bart Veeze from the Netherlands, who delivered a stunning performance with scores of 9.5 in Trot, 8.8 in Walk, 9.2 in Canter, 9.0 for Submission and 9.5 for Perspective, culminating in an overall percentage of 92.000%.

In second place was Severucci HT (Secret x Rubinrot), with Jeanna Hogberg representing Sweden. Severucci HT earned scores of 9.2 in Trot, 8.6 in Walk, 8.8 in Canter, 9.0 in Submission, and 9.3 in Perspective, resulting in an overall percentage of 89.800%.

Completing the top three was Glamdale Wp Nrw (Glamourdale x Millennium), ridden by Stefanie Ahlert from Germany. Glamdale Wp Nrw achieved scores of 9.0 in Trot, 9.3 in Walk, 8.8 in Canter, 8.6 in Submission, and 9.2 in Perspective, also securing an overall percentage of 89.800%.

First Qualification for 6-year-old-horses

Leading the field was Valerie B (Revolution x Blue Hors Zack), ridden by Anne-Mette Strandby Hansen from Denmark. Valerie B achieved outstanding scores of 9.5 in Trot, 8.8 in Walk, 9.0 in Canter, 8.7 in Submission, and 9.4 in Perspective, culminating in an impressive overall percentage of 90.800%.

In second place was Segantini 6 (Secret x Fidermark), with Dorothee Schneider representing Germany. Segantini 6 earned scores of 8.7 in Trot, 8.5 in Walk, 8.8 in Canter, 9.4 in Submission, and 9.2 in Perspective, resulting in an overall percentage of 89.200%.

Completing the top three was Nice Touch W (Dettori x Florencio), ridden by Charlotta Rogerson from Switzerland. Nice Touch W scored 8.8 in Trot, 8.3 in Walk, 9.0 in Canter, 8.8 in Submission, and 9.2 in Perspective, achieving an overall percentage of 88.200%.
