It’s certainly shaping up to be an exciting year for Australian show jumping, with thrilling performances at home and abroad. With the 2026 FEI Jumping World Championships scheduled for 11-23 August in Aachen, Germany, Aussie riders are certainly looking to post strong results – particularly in international-level (CSI and World Cup) classes.
From the Gold Coast to Boneo
In January, top combinations descended on the Gold Coast where over $1.56 million in prizemoney was on offer for the Pacific Fair Magic Millions Showjumping. In the Queensland sunshine, Emma Smith and Oaks Abracadabra produced a clear round in the fastest time of the Senior Team Competition to anchor the victorious James Harron Bloodstock & Aveley Homes team.
Boneo Park’s ever-popular Browns Sawdust World Wetlands Day Jumping Championships was another January highlight, where young gun Jack Barker and Cornets Prinzess claimed a thrilling Grand Prix win.
This month, the GDP Classic presented by Divas Beverages returned to Boneo Park with over $240,000 in total prize money and another winning performance from Emma Collins and Oaks Abracadabra in the Grand Prix. This duo has had an impressive run of success following their winning World Cup debut at Boneo Park in October last year, and it will be exciting to see where they head next.

Aussies shining in Florida
There have been several successes for Aussies competing in Florida on the competitive winter circuit. Lauren Balcomb and Verdini D’houtveld Z’s CSI3* Grand Prix win in Ocala was a proud moment, as was Thaisa Erwin and Hialita B landing on the podium of a CSI4* Grand Prix in Wellington, and Jamie Winning-Kermond and Tulara WAT Colblensky placing fourth in a CSI4* Grand Prix in Wellington. Most recently, Hilary Scott’s CSI5* World Cup fourth placing with the evergreen Oaks Milky Way in Ocala was a thrill to watch.
