Simone Pearce and Will Marq claim CDI4* victory

Australian dressage rider Simone Pearce has delivered a standout performance at Jumping International de Bordeaux, winning the CDI4* Grand Prix aboard Will Marq, owned by Martin Fuchs, with a score of 71.130%, marking the combination’s best CDI result to date.

Simone shared on social media: “What a day! Our Mr Will just won the Grand Prix at Bordeaux! So crazy proud of him!”

They produced a mistake-free test to win the first dressage competition that has been run at Jumping International de Bordeaux, making the win a historic moment for both rider and event.

The results adds another Minimum Eligibility Requirement (MER) to their resumé as the build towards Aachen 2026. The combination now has three MERs, all above 69%, and will now need to look to secure the required Grand Prix Special results as part of the team selection pathway.

Second went to French rider, Pauline Basquin who and Sertorius de Rima Z Ifce with 71.065% and third was João Victor Marcari Oliva and Feel Good VO NRW with 70.522% making it a tight knit field.

Freestyle debut

Simone and Will Marq will return to the arena tonight to contest their first Grand Prix CDI4* Freestyle at 5:17pm local time (3:17am AEDT). This class has a $50,000 EU prize pool and will see the combination perform under the lights in one of Europe’s most electric indoor atmospheres.
