“The Wandin Park Association Inc. met last night to discuss the 2025 Horseland Wandin Park International Horse Event,” announced the event on Wednesday afternoon. “The Anker family, along with The Wandin Park Association Inc committee, have given great consideration to the following decision, but we had unfortunately come to the conclusion that due to personal circumstances we will sadly have to cancel this year’s Horseland Wandin Park International Event.

“We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you and appreciate everyone’s support of our event every year.”

John William Anker – who owned and developed Wandin Park Estate with wife Angela and began its flagship event in 1981 – sadly passed away on the 26th December, 2024. A beloved member of the equestrian community, he contributed immensely to the success of the sport in Australia and will be greatly missed.

Wandin will be back in 2026

While the event will take a break this year, eventing fans can look forward to Wandin Park International Horse Event returning in 2026.

“We promise we aren’t going anywhere, and we will be back bigger and better next year on the 20-22 March 2026, we may even try to bring back the infamous cocktail party to make it up to you all!

“We appreciate the continued support of our community and look forward to welcoming everyone back to Wandin Park in 2026.”
