Equestrian Australia High Performance has announced the four combinations selected for the Australian Eventing Team for CHIO Aachen, which runs in Aachen, Germany from 27 June – 6 July 2025.
The ‘UBS Cup’ is a CCIO4*S Nations Cup competition, with the dressage and jumping taking place on 4 July (morning and evening), and the cross country taking place on 5 July. Last year, Australia placed fifth in the Nations Cup team results with the British claiming victory.
2025 Australian team:
Sammi Birch and Finduss FPB (owned by Parkfield Breeding)
Andrew Cooper and Sharvalley Thunder (owned by Andrew Cooper and Madeline Cooper)
Kevin McNab and Faro IMP (owned by Sofia von Moltke and Emma McNab)
Shane Rose and Easy Turn (owned by Angela Shacklady)
Both Sammi Birch with Finduss PFB and Shane Rose with Easy Turn are first headed to Luhmühlen Three Day Event in Germany (12-15 June), where they’ll contest the CCI4*S.



2016 Nations Cup victory
Back in 2016, Australia did come out on top and won the event, with the team comprised of Shane Rose and CP Qualified, Chris Burton and Nobilis 18, Sammi Birch and Hunter Valley II, and Sonja Johnson with Parkiarrup Illicit Liaison. Shane Rose and CP Qualified were second individually.
Since then, Australia has finished on the podium twice – placing second in 2017 and third in 2019.
