Equestrian Life’s March issue is out now!

It’s been a feast of dressage over summer and we are delighted to bring you the cream of it in our March magazine. We have it all covered, from young Charlotte Phillips’s outstanding performance with CP Dresden in the FEI World Cup Pacific League Final at Dressage by the Sea, to David Shoobridge’s exciting young stars, Mary Hanna’s new charges, and a masterclass with Gary Lung in Tasmania.

With Dressage & Jumping With The Stars coming up, Roger Fitzhardinge takes us through the finer points of his top five exercises for young horses, while FEI World Cup Pacific League Final runner-up Kerry Mack explains what motivates her to ride and train.

Olympic judge Susie Hoevenaars was impressed by what she saw in the off-the-track classes at Boneo Park recently. As she explains this month, her first dressage horse was a Thoroughbred and she believes with the right training they have a great aptitude for the sport. In the show horse arena, another Thoroughbred has been turning heads; we visit Barastoc HOTY to find out more about Christine Frost’s champion hack, Ink.

On the breeding front, we catch up with Christan Trainor of Glenhill Sporthorses to meet her competition team – not only the horses, but also Grand Prix rider Riley Alexander of Alexander Equestrian.

World Championship show jumper James Arkins is finally back on home soil after a giddy year in North America and shares with us his experience of competing and selling horses internationally.

In Health, vet Maxine Brain discusses the salivary glands of horses, while in Lifestyle, Suzy Jarratt takes a rock ‘n’ roll romp through medieval times as she goes behind the scenes of ‘A Knight’s Tale’.
