The 2025 NSW State Jumping Championships wrapped up at the Sydney Showjumping Club in Clarendon on Sunday 7 December, after extreme heat forced the cancellation of Saturday’s schedule.
In a smart pivot by the organisers, all championship titles were decided in single classes on Sunday – setting the stage for fast, high-pressure competition across the board.
Senior Championship (1.40m)
Jack Barker and Cornets Prinzess claimed the Senior Title in a nail-biting jump-off featuring nine combinations. As the final pair on course, they knew the time to beat and finished over 4 seconds ahead, crossing the line in 51.70 seconds to secure the win. James Paterson-Robinson and Diamond B Vivienne took second in 55.50 seconds, while Tess McInerney and Quintation claimed third with 57.81 seconds.

Children’s Championship (1.05m)
Iliana Hercus and Ego Miss Moët jumped three clear rounds to take out the Children’s Championship. Evie Magnier and Master Stevie G finished less than a second behind for second place, with Evie also securing third aboard Oganella.
Junior Championship (1.20m)
In a fun twist, the sibling placings from the Children’s Championship were mirrored in the Junior Championship. Iliana’s older sister, Valentina Hercus, took the win aboard Carousel G, while Evie’s older brother, Charlie Magnier, finished second with Quinn Z and third on I’m Here. A rare double sibling sweep across two state titles.
Young Rider Championship (1.25m)
Charlie Magnier continued his strong form, this time taking top honours in the Young Rider Championship with Notre Dame de Bourguignon in 39.53 seconds. Second went to Liam Rutland and Adele in 42.73, with Charlie collecting third as well on Ogano.
Futurity Championship (1.30m)
Amanda Madigan and Diamond B Chinook were the only combination to produce three clear jump-offs, securing the Futurity title in 44.94 seconds. Chris Chugg and CF Carlotta took second with the quickest round of the class, 43.34 seconds, but with one rail. Melissa Blair and Condor were third with one rail as well and a time of 47.92.
Mini Prix Championship (1.35m)
The Mini Prix was won by Chris Chugg and Cristallina, stopping the clock in 46.31. Kathy O’Hara and Emissary Lass finished second in 47.93, followed by Olivia Hamood and Tulara Bellensky in 48.91 seconds.
