New South Welshman Charlie Magnier proved unbeatable once again in the Winnings Australian Junior Championship – Round 2 with gelding Ogano. Magnier, who also won Round 1 of competition, put in a dominant performance to have a clear lead on the field, ahead of Sunday’s all-important final.
South Australian Imogen Lindh rode the deceptively quick Vivant-sired mare Licaviv to second place ahead of former Australian Junior Champions Jack Barker and Tulara For Quinar.

Tom McDermott on a winning streak
The competition was hot in the Turiya Farms Mini Prix Championship with some of Australia’s fiercest competitors battling it out as crowds eagerly watched on.
New Zealander Oliver Croucher set the pace of the class early with NRS Ricochet MVNZ to hold an early lead (40.63 seconds). New South Welshman James Paterson-Robinson and the Vivant sired bay mare Diamond B Vivienne crossed the finish line in a time of 40.21 seconds to knock Croucher from the throne. Paterson-Robinson’s lead was short lived with Billy Raymont and Tulara Dakchico producing a blazing quick round in a time of 40.76. It looked like the notoriously quick Raymont had done enough to win the class, until Tom McDermott entered the arena on the in-form chestnut gelding Ketut.
McDermott and Ketut proved untouchable, stopping the clock almost three seconds quicker (37.92 seconds) than Billy Raymont to secure victory in the Turiya Farms Mini Prix Championship – Round 2.
However, it’s Tess Mcinerney and Quintation who lead the scoreboard heading into the Final, after posting consistent results across Round 1 and 2.

Williams proves a star
A few showers couldn’t cool the competition in the Holsteiner Verband Future Stars Championship. In an exceptionally close race to the top, Victorian Sam Williams and Bellatrix VP claimed victory, stopping the clock in a time of 38.51 seconds; the duo now also leads the scoreboard heading into the Final.
Mornington Peninsula local Frida Lindgren of Lever Equestrian claimed second position aboard Threemc Lumeah in a time of 39.80 seconds. Never far from a winner’s circle, Tom McDermott picked up third place with the impressive bay stallion Delta Blue Go in a time of 40.31.
