Set over 600 acres, Takapoto Estate is New Zealand’s premier show jumping venue and over the next two weeks it will play host to two FEI Jumping World Cup Qualifiers.

Running across two events (31 October – 1 November and 6 – 7 November), the Spring Cup provides New Zealand’s elite show jumpers with the opportunity to contest back-to-back World Cups.

The first will be held on 2 November (the very same day as the Australian rides line up for the Boneo Cup in Victoria) and the start list for the ClipMyHorse.TV FEI Jumping World Cup Qualifier includes Sophie Scott with her two stars, Normandy GHP and Benrose Stellar. Sophie was of course part of the hugely successful Kiwi contingent who travelled to Australia earlier this year to contend several World Cups alongside the 2025 Trans-Tasman Senior Test Series.

Sophie and Normandy GHP won the Tamworth World Cup Qualifer in August and will be looking to continue their success back on home soil.

They will be joined by Emma Gillies and Lafayet Ego Z, another combination that competed successfully in Australia as part of the Trans-Tasman Test Series and who will be looking to claim their first World Cup Qualifier win after debuting at the level in Tamworth.

The ever-consistent Julie Davey will saddle up LT Holst Freda – another combination who has competed with success in Australia, winning the Tamworth World Cup in 2024.

Kimberly Carrington and Double J Typhoon, Makenzie Causer and Dolce Del Colle, Sophie Fourie and Incendivity HSH, and Tristan Thomas with Matai Zarité round out a strong field of eight.

The second World Cup Qualifier, scheduled for 7 November, will at this stage see Sophie Scott return with her pair, alongside Emme Gilles, Julie Davey, Kimberly Carrington, and Makenzie Causer.

The World Cup classes at Takapoto Estate are complemented by a full schedule of showjumping, hospitality, and entertainment. From thrilling grass arena action (weather permitting) to the lively trade village, café, and bar, it’s the ideal destination to experience world-class equestrian sport.
