Chris Burton is on a roll at Barbury International Horse Trials!

Chris Burton and Polystar 1 are competing in the CIC3* ERM class.

Event Rider Masters CIC3*

America’s Elisabeth Halliday-Sharp (Fernhill By Night) shares the lead with France’s Thomas Carlile (Upsilon) in the ERM CIC3* class following the dressage phase, both with a score of 24.9. Currently in third place is Britain’s Oliver Townsend and Cillnabradden Evo on 25.3.

The highest placed Australian combination is Chris Burton and Polystar I in 11th place on 30.8. Sam Griffiths and Happy Times are in 16th on 32.1. Next is Warren Lamperd and Silvia in equal 25th on 35.5.

The showjumping and cross country phases take place today.

CIC3*

The CIC3* will also complete their showjumping and cross country phases today. The dressage result from this class were completed Friday and can be found here.

CIC2* classes

In the CIC2* classes, Britain’s Adam Harvey and Picasso V won Section C on 29.9. Unfortunately the dressage leaders, Sam Griffiths and Billy Liffy, were eliminated on the cross country.

Section D will complete the cross country and showjumping phases today; Christine Bates and Adelaide Hill sit in 21st place on 30.5 penalties in this class.

In Section E, Chris Burton and Bahira M jumped clear in the showjumping and cross country to move from 9th after the dressage to win the class on 29.6. Second place went to Laura Collett and Calmaro (29.9) of Britain, while third went to fellow British rider Phoebe Locke and Union Fortunus (34.2)

Novice classes

Chris Burton had a very successful day, winning Section F with Lawtown Girl, finishing second in Section H with Coup De Coeur Dudevin, and winning Section I with Calibre Royale.
