Competition continues at the Australian Para Dressage Championships

The Leader Equine Australian Para Dressage Championships continued Saturday at Boneo Park, amid a bit of wild weather! Run by the team at Carlton Performance Horses, the event is the first selection event this year for the postponed Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.

Saturday saw the FEI Individual Tests take place across the five grades.
 
The Grade 1 went to Stella Barton and Allengreen Captivate on a score of 60.893%.

In the Grade 2, Victoria Davies yet again took first and second place with Andaluka Elegido and Celere respectively. Andaluka Elegido scored 65.196%, while Celere scored 63.97%, both scores being improvements from yesterday’s Team Test. In third place was Kellie Tinworth and Quamby Park Showmil on 54.794%.

In the Grade 3, Olympian and WEG representative Emma Booth improved on yesterday’s Team Test result to score 71.422%, wining the class with Mogelvangs Zidane. Second place went to Maddison Cooke and Byalee Magic II on 58.579%.

The Grade 4 saw another win to Olympian Sharon Jarvis, riding Romanos to a score of 71.342%, and improvement on yesterday’s 70.458% in the Team Test. Second place went to Claire Graham riding Der Beste with 68.313%, third went to Phoebe Roche and Saddle Up Romper Stomper on 66.301%, and fourth went to Zoe Vorenas riding Little Brave with a score of 65.557%.

Finally, in the Grade 5 Dianne Barnes and Cil Dara Cosmic scored 66.588% to claim victory, with Stuart Drysdale and Blueberry 20 second on 66.191% in another close result. Third place went to Melanie Diplock and Lacara D on 65.397%, while fourth went to Noella Angel and Mallee Jack on 61.627%. All combinations achieved improved scores from yesterday’s Team Test.

Competition continues Sunday with the FEI Freestyle Tests.
