For close to a decade Westphalian Stallion ABER HALLO 29 has resided at the venerated dressage stables of Mulawa Performance, where he has established a superb dynasty of exclusively Mulawa-bred warmblood athletes. This season Mulawa Performance is proudly offering breeders around Australia an incredible opportunity – making Aber Hallo available at stud for the very first time since his arrival in Australia.

Born in 2004, Aber Hallo’s journey began in Hagen, Germany, with the Kasselmann Family of Hof Kasselmann/PSI who bred him from outstanding Westphalian and modern Holsteiner lines.

Aber Hallo’s dam, RIMINIS QUEEN, was a prized brood matron and daughter of celebrated breeding stallion RIMINI, while his sire, AMIDOU (by Alcatraz), was one of the most promising rising stars of his time. Amidou was tragically lost at the age of five due to a severe viral infection, which he contracted just before the 2004 Bundeschampionate. Only months prior to his passing, Amidou had won the Bronze Medal at the World Championships for Young Horses in Verden with the accomplished Dr. Ulf Möller.

It was with Dr. Möller that Aber Hallo’s ridden career began. His big performance debut came in 2007 and was punctuated by a 4th place finish in the Three-Year-Old Stallion Finals at the ’07 Bundeschampionate in Warendorf. In following seasons he was campaigned by Stefanie Kerner, earning remarkable accolades at Preliminary Level and blitzing the Spanish Sunshine Tour CDI in 2009.

After his success on the Spanish Tour, Aber Hallo returned to PSI, where the Farrell Family were blessed to be introduced to him.

After nearly 40 years of experience and international success with Mulawa Arabian Stud, the Farrells were hoping to establish a sister barn (which would become known as Mulawa Performance) that would focus on training and producing top warmblood horses. At the time of their visit to PSI they were actively searching for an ideal candidate to become Performance’s foundation sire. The Farrells would only consider a stallion who posessed highly desirable traits while displaying a strong siring potential, insisting that he be of exceptional quality, showing superb conformation, athletic and elegant paces, and (above all else) a gentle, charismatic and willing nature.

When the Farrell Family met ABER HALLO 29 their search ended immediately. He was, without a doubt, the one.

Since his arrival in Australia in 2010, Aber Hallo has been exclusively paired with mares either owned or selected by Mulawa, producing a family of outstanding sons and daughters. At the same time Aber Hallo has successfully competed with riders Daniella Dierks, Brett Parbery and Riley Alexander, from Medium to Grand Prix, garnering accolades along the way including 2011 Dressage NSW Medium Horse of the Year, 2013 Equestrian NSW Horse of the Year, and 2016 Boneo Spring CDI Big Tour Champion.

The eldest representatives of Aber Hallo’s get are now training and competing alongside their sire, achieving fantastic results – including son Aber Halo MI being named DJWTS 4YO Champion jointly in 2018, and daughter Aber Sienna MI placing second in the NSW Young Horse Championships at the 2019 Sydney CDI. The eldest of Aber Hallo’s daughters are currently producing the next generation of exclusively Mulawa-bred warmbloods.

As Aber Hallo’s journey continues, Mulawa Performance is delighted to mark 2019 as a very special season for their exceptional sire – inviting the Australian equestrian community to share in their breeding success with him…

Mulawa Performance is currently celebrating Aber Hallo’s first season at public stud by sharing his journey in a series of feature posts on Facebook and Instagram. Follow the journey!
