The Split Rock Jumping Tour will be introducing a brand new concept to its 2020 show jumping tour.

The “Ante Up” Grand Prix will debut on the 7th of April 2020 at Pomponio Ranch in Rancho Santa Fe, California. The anticipated Grand Prix will see 15 horse and rider combinations battle it out for the $1.5 million (USD) prize pool, making the event one of the richest in showjumping.

In order for riders to compete, they must pay up a $125,000 entry fee. Competitors can either invest their own money to win 100% of the profits, or have their entry paid for by an investor, with the rider receiving 25% back, with the rest going to the investor.

The runner-up will receive $350,000, while the third place rider will receive $150,000.

The Grand Prix will run under a “Winning Round” format, with the track sizing up to 1.60m. The first round will be against the clock, with the fastest five with the lowest faults retuning to the ring for round two. The final five will jump in reverse order, with their faults being carried over.

Invitations will be extended to the top five entered U.S. based riders based on the Longines FEI World Ranking list, the top five entered foreign riders based on the Longines FEI World Ranking List, five riders selected by the organising committee, plus two reserves.
