The questions we are often asked are no laughing matter!
When they first obtain the knowledge that you ride horses:
“Are you a jockey?”
And then…
“Have you ever fallen off?”
When they find out you have your own horse:
“You must be rich!”
Shortly followed by….
“I rode a horse once…can I have a ride?”
On the topic of riding and fitness:
“But you just sit there don’t you? The horse does all the work.”
When you are trying to explain dressage:
“So you mean the dancing horses?”

When they see your horse with a fly veil on:
“What is that? Can they see through it?”
When they see your pony:
“How big will it grow? A pony is a baby horse, right?”
When they see your 15hh horse:
“Woah, that’s a big horse!”
When you mention that you are involved with horses and it just so happens to be Spring Racing Carnival time:
“You must be really busy with the Melbourne Cup and all!”
In response to a photo of your show horse:
“Why do you do that to their hair and what’s that shaved bit on his rump?”
