Danish dressage rider Daniel Bachmann Andersen is leaving Blue Hors Stud to start his own business with his wife, Norwegian dressage rider Tiril Anerud.
Daniel has been head rider at Blue Hors for more than five years, and has had many successful horses there, including Blue Hors Zack (his 2018 WEG horse and current world number 10), and Blue Hors Don Olymbrio (current world number 12).
Blue Hors Zack was his Tokyo hopeful, however with the postponement of the Olympics the horse has returned to stud duties.
“At the end of June, Daniel Bachmann Andersen resigns from his position as chief rider at Blue Hors. In the future, Daniel and his wife Tiril will start up their own riding stable,” said Blue Hors Sports Manager Ulrik Gerstorf Sørensen in a press release.

Based in Denmark, Blue Hors is one if Europe’s leading warmblood studs. Set on 330 acres, the stud has 14 stallions, and was home to the legendary Blue Hors Don Schufro, the sire of Isabell Werth’s Weihegold OLD and many other top horses. Don Schufro passed away earlier this year at nearly 27 years of age.
