Luca Maria Moneta’s show jumping partner, Neptune Brecourt has retired from the sport at the age of 20.

The talented Selle Français gelding was trained by Jean-Charles Bernast and Nicolas Baysset, before transitioning to his long-term partner, Luca Maria Moneta.

Moneta and Neptune Brecourt or “Nepi”, as he was known to his friends, recorded countless victories, at the highest level and against the toughest competition.

Moneta shared a post to his Instagram page which read, “It is with pleasure but also a bit of sadness that I want to announce that 2020 was the last year of competition for Neptune Brecourt. I wish that each of you can meet a horse like Nepi!”.

Equestrian Life wishes Neptune Brecourt a happy retirement!
