Gold to Germany
A nail-biting finale to the Grand Prix Special saw it come down to the last four rides to determine the top three placings. Despite a minor mistake in the changes Jessica Von Bredow-Werndl and TSF Dalera secured the win for the German Team and the highest score in the special of 84.665%. Teammates Isabell Werth and the beautiful Bella Rose 2 scored 83.282% and Dorothee Schneider and the stunning Showtime FRH scored 80.610%.
In second was Team USA thanks to a seemingly flawless ride from Sabine Schut-Kery on the incredible Sanceo. The combination produced a personal best score in the special of 81.596%. Not to be outdone, her teammates Adrienne Lyle and Salvino scored a super 76.109% and Steffen Peters and Suppenkasper scored 77.766%.
In third was Great Britain, a couple of costly mistakes affected both Charlotte Fry and Everdale’s tests and Charlotte Dujardin and Gio’s. Nonetheless, three consistent scores of 78.343% from Carl Hester and En Vogue, 76.854% from Charlotte Fry and Everdale and 79.544% from Charlotte Dujardin and Gio.
With only 1.854% separating the Great Britain and Denmark teams it truly came down to the wire.
The standard of tests continued to rise, and tensions and excitement levels are set high ahead of the Grand Prix Freestyles tomorrow night.
