Australian dressage rider William Matthew has enjoyed further success in the competition arena, winning the Inter II with Mysterious Star at a show run by Dressurausbildung Team Rueben in Würselen, Germany.

William and Mysterious star scored over 73% to claim the win.

“He’s really exciting,” says William of the horse. “I think he’s one of the best horses I ever had. He is a nine-year-old by Metal x Fürst Heinrich, and is owned by Stephanie Göller.

“I have had him in training for four years now, since he was five. He was always like a big baby spider and it took him a bit of time to coordinate and organise his body, but it’s like this year everything just clicked and now he’s very close to a Grand Prix debut.”

The win follows William’s success at Wuppertaler Dressurtage earlier this month, where he also won the Inter II riding Freischutz and was awarded his Goldene Reitabzeichen (Golden Rider Badge).

Congratulations William!
