Action continues at the Australian Jumping Championships

The 2023 Australian Jumping Championships entered day three on Thursday at Sydney International Equestrian Centre, and once again there were a number of exciting performances.
The final class on the main arena today was the Australian Senior Championship – Round 2 (Art. 238 2.2), and the 19 combinations vying for the national senior title certainly commanded attention. Sam Whale and Fleur DeLacour, Phillp Lever with Billionaire NZHP, and Amber Fuller riding Nopal van Tallaert all produced double clears, with the latter the quickest combination around the jump off course to claim the win. Amber and Nopal van Tallaert now lead the Senior Championship rankings after two days of competition.
First into the main ring today were competitors in the Equipe Australian Junior Championship – Round 1 (Art. 239), with Cody Tincknell and Conquest taking the opening class of this championship.
The Sydney Jumping Association Ruby Series – Round 2 (Art. 238 2.1) went to Olivia Hamood and Yirrkala Miss Darcy, with the pair also leading the overall rankings.
The Orangeville Performance Horses Australian Young Rider Championship – Round 2 (Art 238 2.2) went to Clemency Hughes and YPH Capulet, however it was the third-placed Hayden Parker and Tulara Spangenberg who have managed to hold on to the top ranking overall in the Young Rider Championship.
Over in ring two, the Yirrkala Stud Emerald Series Young Horse – Round 2 (Art. 238 2.2, for horses under 8 years of age) went to Glenara Leonardo Z ridden by Samantha Dernee, with the pair also holding the overall series ranking.
The Emerald Series Open – Round 2 (Art. 238 2.2) went to New Zealand rider Matt Irvine and Dilandra, with Rachel Vella and Vellara Delerium holding the overall top position in the series rankings.
The Priestley Family Amateur Series – Round 2 (Art. 238 2.1) went to Jessica Bott and Raise An Angel, with Abby West and Aniklas leading the overall rankings after the second day.
The Stonewall Equestrian TSHA Series – Round 2 (Art. 238 2.1) was won by Lucy Borrack and Oscar Boscaiola, with the pair also leading the overall rankings; the DESA Opal Series Adult – Round 1 (Art. 238 2.1) was won by Alexis Clark and Oaks Visionary; and the DESA Opal Series Junior- Round 1 (Art. 238 2.1) was won by Alice Lawrence and Mr Ali.
