Big Tour horses in action at Victorian Dressage Festival
The first Big Tour class of the Hygain Victorian Dressage Festival, the Inter II, took place today – and it was Maree Tomkinson and her Totilas x Diamantina mare, Total Diva, who claimed first place. Maree and her mare, who is very new to the level, scored 64.657% to finished just ahead of Debbie Warne and Alancelot on 64.069%.
In the Inter A, Louisa Smith rode HP Fresco to first place on 66.618%.
In the Inter I, it was yesterday’s PSG winners Jayden Brown and WillingaPark Quincy B who produced the winning test with 73.676%. Justine Greer was a close second with Yarramee Fonzi on 73.480%. Also cracking 70% was third placed Georgina Foot and Zoe.
In the Advanced classes, Jayden enjoyed further success – this time winning the 5B riding WillingaPark Spot On with 71.487%. However, it was Jason James and Florino 48 who shone in the 5C with 72.5%. The Advanced Championship went to the runners up from both tests, Janet Seccull and Bloomfield Vegas.
In the Pony classes, the Inter I went to Illawong Harvest Moon, ridden by Bella Plumridge to a score of 66.421%. The Pony Advanced 5B went to Paige Koliba and Loriot Skyes The Limit, with the pair claiming the overall Pony Advanced Championship. The 5C went to Georgia Frank riding Baxters Grand Image.
The Pony Novice Championship went to Long Park Lucy, ridden by Emma Turnbull after two very consistent tests – including a first in the 2B on 71.896%. Many Heather and Buckwell Park Limited Edition won the 2C with 71.215%.
The Novice classes and young horse and pony classes were still in progress at time of writing.
