For those of you who don’t know, about 6 weeks ago I broke my leg in a freak accident off a young horse. The injury is healing really well but whilst I was having my healing time on the lounge, it gave me some quality time for reflection, and after some very careful consideration I feel that the time has come for me to make some changes.
After two fantastic years of working alongside Terry Snow and the fabulous staff at Willinga Park, Bawley Point, I have decided not to renew my employment contract going into 2020. Instead, I’ll be returning to our family home in Penrose, NSW Southern Highlands. It will be from here that I will further pursue my passion for equestrian education, coaching and mentoring.
?I have thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of assisting Terry to build the reputation of Willinga and I am very pleased with everything we have achieved during my time. I promised Terry that, together with his wonderful team, we would ‘get things going’ at Willinga Park, and that we did. Having the opportunity to work alongside and learn from such an amazing man will always be with me, and some of the valuable life lessons will stay with me forever. I am definitely better for witnessing first hand, the man with the enormous vision, one of the biggest in the world, work through set back after set back, unaffected and unrelenting. The passion, stamina and determination that I have witnessed in a man who has already achieved so much and given to so many, is simply unparalleled and awe-inspiring. I will always look back at our time together with fondness, respect and admiration.
I am very pleased to say that my association with Willinga Park will remain, albeit in a less formal role. I will continue training one or two of the Willinga team horses, and will take on the role as mentor as required by the new permanent dressage team rider.
?Back in Penrose, our main focus will be on making even bigger and better our fabulous online training platform The Parbery Program. We know we have a top product that truly helps riders, and I am passionate about sharing it with as many people as we can. A lifetime of experience, in many different disciplines in countries all over the world, the highs and the lows and the ins and outs are documented, open and accessible to our Program members. We wish to mentor people, to support them in their current training regimes and urge them to consistently connect with quality local coaches. Watching our members grow and achieve, establish their goals and give them direction, gives us so much pleasure.
?So, with a wonderful chapter of life now coming to a close, I’m thrilled to be launching into 2020 completely focused on helping as many riders as possible to achieve their dreams. We are about to launch more ways to work with us in The Parbery Program, so stay tuned for that. Can’t wait!
