Champion sire Quaterback has passed away
By Equestrian Life
Quaterback, an 18-year-old Brandenburg stallion by Quaterman out of Passionata (Brandenburger), has sadly passed away following a severe bout of colic.
The stallion won the Bundeschampionate (German National Championships for young horses) as a three-year-old and was competed intermittently up to Small Tour level, before mainly focussing on breeding; he stood at Brandenburg State Stud and was ranked number 4 on the 2020 WBFSH Dressage Sire Ranking.
Named an Elite Stallion in 2016, he sired many successful Grand Prix horses that have often been renowned for their ability to collect. His talented offspring include horses such as Quantaz, ridden by Isabell Werth, and also Australian horse Quincy B, owned by Willinga Park and ridden by Jayden Brown.
Equestrian Life’s thoughts are with Brandenburg State Stud and all those connected with the stallion.
