Riding Genius 60, Australian Amelia White has won the CPEDI3* Freestyle – Grade V at CHI Al Shaqab, presented by Longines, in Doha.
On the final day of the competition, Amelia and Genius performed an outstanding Freestyle test, after strong performances in the Individual and Team tests on the first two days of the competition. In the Individual and Team tests, Amelia and Genius finished second by narrow margins; their Freestyle score of 73.733% saw the pair finish 1.4% ahead of the second placed combination.
Clearly delighted by the win, Amelia has posted on her Facebook page Amelia White Equestrian:
“We did it! 1st place in the freestyle today with 73.733% at Al Shaqab! I have no words. First international win. First rug. Second ever freestyle on my super special boy. Bigger report coming later – I’m still processing. Thank you to all our supporters and sponsors; we couldn’t do it without you.
Amelia and Genius will now return to their base in Germany, where they will continue to prepare for potential Tokyo 2020 team selection.
Congratulations to Amelia, Genius and all of their connections!
