PBs and qualifying scores for Aussies in Hagen
By Equestrian Life
Australian riders have posted PBs and Paris qualifying scores as Hagen CDI/CPEDI concludes in Germany.
Emma Booth achieved her first Paris Paralympic qualifying score with new ride Saimir, scoring 67% in the CPEDI3* Grade III Grand Prix B on Saturday; it was a PB score for the pair.
Scores of 67%+ in Grand Prix A and B tests (CPEDI3* and above) count as Paris Paralympic qualification score as per Australia’s nomination criteria.
Emma and Saimir qualified for Sunday’s Freestyle, scoring 70.178% for sixth place.
“I’m so excited for the future with this horse,” said Emma following the Freestyle. “In just one week we’ve managed to drastically improve scores, gain a greater understanding of each other in this new partnership, build confidence and trust, and get back to having fun which is the most important thing.
“My body is still fragile at 8 weeks post fracture, and I can feel I’m not back to riding at full capacity. On the bright side, it’s very exciting to know there’s so much more left in the tank and hopefully we continue to improve from here.”

Jessica Dertell and Cennin finished 13th on 69.234%, their best Grand Prix Special score to date since arriving in Europe.
The Grand Prix Special forms part of the selection criteria for Australian dressage riders, with combinations needing to show “demonstrated experience in a minimum of two Grand Prix Special Tests at international events at CDI3* or above” in the qualifying period.
