Victoria’s Wandin Park hosted the Horseland Australian Eventing Championships on the weekend, with saw a large field of competitors taking part in classes ranging from 65cm through to CCI4*-S level.

Sam Jeffree led from start to finish to win the Horseland CCI4*-S class, adding only time penalties in the cross country phase to finish on a total of 45.0 penalties riding Woodmount Lolita. It was the 23 year old’s first win at this level; having placed 2nd in the 4* class at Tonimbuk earlier this month, it’s clear that this in-form young rider is one to watch as the season progresses!

Olympic gold medallist Wendy Schaeffer-Macdonald won the Horseland CCI3*-L class riding Sun Quest, also leading from start to finish.  David Middleton finished second and third riding WEC In the Money and WEC In the Swing respectively, ahead of Pakistan’s Usman Kahn in fourth place riding Kasheer.
