Success continues for Boyd Exell

Following his 14th win at Royal Windsor Horse Show earlier this month, Australian carriage driving star Boyd Exell has claimed another win – this time in the CAI3* at PSG Lähden, Germany.

Much like his win at Windsor, Boyd once again managed to put a large gap between himself and his competition by the time the final scores were posted.

Boyd finished just behind Chester Weber of the USA in the dressage, but then won the marathon on Saturday and was the only one of the Four-in-Hand Horses to remain double clear in the cones. The difference between Exell and Weber, the number two, was ultimately 25 penalty points.

Boyd’s experienced Windsor team – Celviro, Checkmate, Hero, Ivor and Mad Max – were having a well-deserved break, and therefore at PSG Lähden it was the younger team of future stars who stepped up to the challenge.

Daan 8, Maestro H, Jelviro, Julius van Hapert and Neapolitano Nimrod were all in fine form throughout all three phases, securing victory on a total of 135.32.

Fellow Australian Tor Van Den Berge also had a great event, finishing 10th in the CAI3* Four-In-Hand Horses on 183.03 among a strong field of 23. Tor’s team was made up of horses Carbery Estate Cato, Carbery Estate Chino, Indiana, Kamore and Kerosine.

Congratulations Boyd and Tor!
