Victorian Dressage Festival kicks off at Werribee

Today marked the first day of the Hygain Victorian Dressage Festival at Werribee, with competitors facing a slightly chilly Melbourne summer day to get things started!

Willinga Park’s Jayden Brown continued on with his success from Boneo Park last weekend to claim the Prix St Georges test with WillingaPark Quincy B. The pair scored 73.284%, just ahead of Janet Seccull and Maritza on 70.049%.

The Pony Prix St Georges went to Allison O’Neill and Roseglen Toytown on 64.559%, just ahead of Jessica Dertell and Gleniph Tiramisu.

In the Preliminary classes, Jayden claimed the 1B with WillingaPark Miana on 74.554%, while Stuart Archibald and Seven After Midnight scored 73.750% to claim the 1C. Finishing runner up in the 1C, Jayden and Miana took out the overall Preliminary Championship, with Stuart the runner-up.

In the Pony Preliminary classes, the 1B went to Aisha Heinrich and Cheraton Caesar on 73.482%, while the 1C went to Emma Turnbull and Long Park Lucy on 74.018%. With consistent results in both classes, Caitlyn Porter and Kaiser’s Goldfinger won the overall Pony Preliminary Championship.

In the young horse and pony classes, round 1 of the 6YO Young Horse went to Lizzie Wilson-Fellows and Let’s Charmeux on 81.2%, while round 1 of the 6YO Young Pony went to Clair Arnold and Fawks Crocodile Rock on 77%. In round 1 of the 7YO Young Horse, Karen Blythe and Sonic K score 77.333% to take the win.
