Following Wednesday’s raids on Darren Weir’s stables and the leading trainers subsequent arrest and release, Australian Bloodstock has moved to reassure its owners that it’s horses with Weir will remain with him for the time being.
“We’re of the opinion to let due process take its course at this stage,” said Jamie Lovett, Australian Bloodstock Director.
“We’ve got 40 plus horses there, and 1000 owners, we are getting inundated, but they are supportive and happy to let it play out.
“We are behind Darren, and it’s a difficult one, but we’ll let it be a determination from RVL and the stewards as to what they will do, whether they make a decision to impact his license to train.
“If there is something sinister to it then then we’ll rethink,” he said.

Australian Thoroughbred Bloodstock has taken a similar approach following Wednesday’s circumstances, saying it will wait to make a decision.
“At the moment, it’s too early for us to make any decision, what happened on Wednesday came out of the blue and we are all trying to digest it all and we are seeking more information, there will be a further update from the stable either Thursday or early next week,” said Darren Dance, ATB Owner & Director.
“Once that happens, we’ll consider our options going forward.
Speculation has been rife that a number of syndicators have moved horses from Weir following Wednesday’s revelations.
Yulong Investments Australia wouldn’t confirm whether or not its horses have been moved but did say its number one priority is what is best for the horses.
“At this stage we will wait until more information is released before making a decision,” said Sam Fairgray, Yulong Investments Australia.
“Darren has been very good to Mr Zhang but very we have to be thinking about the horses now.
“By looks of things, we’ll be looking to place our horses elsewhere, particularly if it’s looking like Darren could be suspended and indefinitely.
“There are trainers we already have a number of horses with, so we’d be hoping they can take on more of our horses now.
“We currently have 15 horses in work with Darren and he’s got seven of the horses we’ve imported from Ballydoyle.”
