Aussie Simone Pearce set to compete this weekend in Germany

By Equestrian Life

National equestrian events are starting back in Germany, and we finally have some equestrian action to follow!

German-based Australian dressage rider Simone Pearce is heading out this coming weekend to compete with a young horse:

“We are getting back into it over here after three months at home and we’re very happy to be getting back out there! This weekend I am just taking a young horse for Prix St Georges, to practice before the bigger shows, because I’ve never competed him before.”

Simone explains that this is just the beginning, with bigger events on the way:

“The following weekend we have a very big national show in Essen, which is just 20 minutes from my stable. This show will be like a who’s who of German dressage: Isabell Werth, Patrik Kittel, Lyndal Oatley, Freddy Wandres… it’s for sure a star studded line up! I think everyone is very eager to get back out, and because of this willing to travel a long way to find nice competitions!”

“(At the show in Essen) I will take 5-6 horses, for everything from the 5-year-old class through to Grand Prix with Destano! It’s been a great chance to get to know Destano better over the past few months without the pressure of competition, since we have just been a combination since January. I have started to train with Oliver Oelrich during this period, and it’s fitting really, really well!! So now in the new Olympic year I’m really looking forward to getting out again and putting our training to the test!”

We wish Simone the best of luck this weekend and look forward to following the results fas the equestrian action kicks back into gear in Europe!
