Aussies contest Tryon International 3-Day Event

The Dutta Corp Tryon International 3-Day Event took place at Tryon International Equestrian Centre (9-13 November) in North Carolina, with two Aussie riders — Ema Klugman and Ryan Wood — contesting the CCI3*L with their up-and-coming young horses.

Ema Klugman finished in 8th place with RF Redfern, with the pair completing the event on their dressage score of 38.1. “Fern” is an American-bred nine-year-old by Any Given Sunday out of a Condor mare, and owned by Team Fern syndicate. Ema stepped her up to three-star level this season, with Tryon being a PB score for her at CCI3* (FEI level three-star).

Ryan Wood and Check Point added just 1.2 cross country time penalties and two rails to their dressage score to finish 12th on 43.7. The seven-year-old gelding has only been competing at FEI level this season, stepping up from two-star to three-star in the middle of the year. The chestnut German-bred Hanoverian is by Calido I out of a Contendro I mare, and is owned by Linda Ledray.

Congratulations Ema and Ryan! Two exciting young horses to watch next season.
