Boneo CPEDI gets underway
By Equestrian Life
The Boneo Park Winter Dressage Championships have began in freezing conditions on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, with the event running a CPEDI for para dressage combinations looking to gain international level experience and put forward possible qualifying scores for the FEI World Championships in August.
The CPEDI classes kicked off with the Team Tests across the five grades.
The Grade I Team Test went to Morgan Webb Liddle and Thamesbourne Sunsation on 60.952%, with Luke Eaton and Ruched second on 57.167%.
The Grade II Team Test went to Maddison Cooke and Byalee Magic II on 69.192%, while the Grade III Team Test went to Kelly Ffrost and Highfield Luda Dijon on a score of 66.569%.
The Grade IV was hotly contested, with Zoe Vorenas claiming the win riding WIS Forte to 66.875%. Second place went to Dianne Barnes and Cil Dara Cosmic on 66.667%, third went to Danielle Turner and Nungarra Bonfire on 66.375%, and fourth went to Kylie Christian and Bellaire Cannavaro on 66.083% — so very, very close!
The Grade V Team Test went to Stuart Drysdale and Blueberry 20 on 65.271%, with Stuart also finishing the runner up, riding Quality Street 3 to 60.232%. Third went to Claire Skerman and Cognac Falcon on 57.132%, while Mietta Innes-Irons was fourth with Joie Du Lys on 55.116%.
Well done to all competitors, who battled very trying conditions!

To compete at the FEI World Championships, combinations must achieve a Minimum Eligibility Requirement (MER) score of 62% in the Team or Individual Test at a CPEDI3* or above during the qualification period; this is a qualification requirement set by the FEI. So congratulations to those who achieved this today!
In addition, Australia’s own selection criteria requires combinations to provide two Team and two Individual test scores (where scores of 70% are of particular interest) from selected observation events this year in order to then be considered for team selection.
In Australia, the ‘Para Nationals’ signalled the first of these events, followed by the Sydney CD-Lite; the Boneo CPEDI3* is the third and final chance for combinations to post scores in Australia. Overseas riders can use any CPEDI3* shows as discussed with the Para Equestrian High Performance Manager.
The Individual Tests take place tomorrow.
