Day four of The Saddlefitter Brisbane CDN
By Equestrian Life
Today was the final day of The Saddlefitter Brisbane CDN, and that means it was Freestyle day!
The main arena looked a picture, and there was plenty of entertainment on offer for those lucky enough to attend – and those who tuned in via our live stream!
Action on the main arena began with the LP Equestrian FEI Pony Freestyle Test, which went to Jorja McCloskey and Riverlea Stormboy on 68.492%
The Horseland Gold Coast FEI Junior Freestyle Test went to India Cochrane and GB Winchester on a great score of 72%.
The Crystal Cascade Horse Park Advanced Freestyle, which signalled the start of our live stream coverage, went to Toni Webb and the lovely Salient Park Prince. The pair scored an impressive 71.708%.
The International Horse Breeders FEI Young Rider Freestyle went to Holly Wickham and Kinnordy Gyron on a score of 68.933%.
The Prydes Easifeeds CDN IntermediateI Freestyle was won by Alexis Hellyer and Bluefields Doris Day on a great score of 70.333%.
The Interpath 4Cyte Intermediate A/B Freestyle went to Julie Bland and Jordan on 67.542%.
Vision Freight Forwarding Under 25 Grand Prix Freestyle went to Eliza Cullen and Dobria De Jeu on a score of 63.833%.
The Martin Collins CDN Grand Prix Freestyle went to Emma Flavelle-Watts and the mare Cabaret C (pictured). The pair scored 72.650%, with the judges awarding as high as 74%. It was a great result for Emma, who had a little mishap in yesterday’s Special with the mare leaving the arena early. No such dramas today, and it was a beautiful test! Danielle Shearer and Riverview Cinderella were second on 64.7%.
There was also action over on arena two during the day, with the Open Medium horses in action. Nicole Tough won the Kohnkes Own Medium 4B (Open) with Florenz on 72.365%, while the 4C Open went to Ashleigh Urban and Quaterbella K on 70.897%. Nicole and Florenz were crowned the overall Medium Open Champions, with Ashleigh and Quaterbella K the runners up.
Well that’s a wrap for the 2020 Brisbane CDN! What a great event, and such a thrill to have competitions on again here in Australia!
