Edward Gal leads the Netherlands to Nations Cup win in Rotterdam

Nations Cup team results

Edward Gal riding Glock’s Zonik have led the Netherlands to victory at the Nations Cup dressage event at Rotterdam. It was the fourth of seven Nations Cup events, and the home team led from the beginning with Gal’s impressive Grand Prix win.

Second place went to team Sweden, while the USA finished third. The results meant that Sweden maintained their series lead after their success at earlier Nations Cup events in Denmark and France. The Netherlands are now second on the leader board.

Nations Cup CDI5* class results

Individual results saw Edward Gal and Glock’s Zonik win the Grand Prix on 76.957%, just ahead of Sweden’s Therese Nilshagen and Dante Weltino OLD on 76.152%. Patrik Kittel and Well Done de la Roche scored 75.804% to take third place.

Gal also won the Grand Prix Freestyle on 80.075%, ahead of Patrik Kittel and Well Done de la Roche on 77.500%. Third place on 77.135% was the USA’s Steffen Peters and Rosamunde.

In the Special, Therese Nilshagen and Dante Weltino OLD scored 74.149% for the win, just ahead of Hans Peter Minderhoud and Glock’s Dream Boy for the Netherlands on 73.830%. Third place went to Juliette Ramel and Buriel KH of Sweden; the pair scored 73.596%.

CDI3*

Edward Gal was also very successful in the CDI3* classes, winning the Grand Prix on 16 year old stallion Glock’s Voice with a score of 74.261% and also the Freestyle on 78.675%.

The Grand Prix Special was won by Adrienne Lyle and Horizon of the USA on 70.681%; it was the first European win for the rider.
