Australian show jumper Edwina Tops-Alexander has enjoyed a successful Longines Global Champions Tour (LGCT) of Paris, finishing on the podium in two classes in front of the Eiffel Tower.

On Friday, Edwina rode Catenda to a clear round in the Prix Elle CSI5* 1.45m class, sharing first place with Tobias Meyer and Quintus-H, when both combinations finished with the exact same time of 26.28 seconds.

On the final day of the show, the Aussie also achieved a podium finish, claiming second place in the CSI5* Saint Laurent Eiffel Challenge, again with Catenda. The pair jumped clear in round one to secure a place in the jump-off and then backed up their stellar effort in the jump-off, posting a time of 40.05 seconds and finishing just behind Avant Toi, who jumped clear in 39.85 seconds.

Edwina’s Global Champions League team, Valkenswaard United, finished in fifth place of 16. Edwina had one rail down with Fellow Castlefield in the first round, before jumping clear in the second. Teammate John Whitaker had a rail down in both rounds, meaning  the team finished on 12 faults. The GCL of Paris went to the Paris Panthers trio of Darragh Kenny, Ben Maher and Gregory Wathelet.

In the LGCT Grand Prix, Brazilian Marlon Módolo Zanotelli claimed victory riding Like A Diamond van het Schaeck. Edwina and Fellow Castlefield had just one rail down to finish 14th of 35.
