Equestrian Life’s February issue is out now!

In the February edition of Equestrian Life, we’re celebrating the return of events! From international dressage at Boneo Park to million-dollar showjumping on the Gold Coast, there’s certainly plenty to be excited about.

This month Heath Ryan pays tribute to Joy Charlton (1936-2022), whose contribution to dressage in this country is very much still felt today, while Roger Fitzhardinge catches up with Gill Rickard — another dressage enthusiast who has made her mark on the sport.

On the training front, Roger examines the rein-back, while Kerry Mack gives us her thoughts on preparing for young horse classes.

In the jumping arena, we meet the legendary Whitaker family and also shine the spotlight on OTT Katelle Grand who, partnered with young rider Katie Clark, is enjoying success in his second career.

From a health perspective we take a vet’s look at osteochondromas, meet the team behind award-winning supplements company Hi Form, and discover the benefits of light on equine health with Equilume. Equine transport manufacturers Theault explain why it’s so important to ensure our horses are travelling comfortably and safely, while Hygain ambassador Janet Seccull shares how she manages her up and coming dressage stars. In addition, the Equestrian Australia Dressage Committee has just released their Guide to Rider Size, which aims to encourage a conversation with coaches about appropriate size of horse and rider.

Finally, our movie feature this month is ‘Harry & Snowman’; discover the amazing back-story of this 2015 documentary!
