The approved stallion Glamourdale has been announced as the 2020 KWPN Horse of the Year (Dressage), after receiving over 2,000 online votes via the KWPN website.

Owned by Gertjan van Olst and bred by Joop Rodenbury, the 2011 stallion by Lord Leatherdale and out of a Negro mare has had an illustrious career to date. As a three-year-old, the eye-catcher was named champion at the KWPN stallion approval, with an impressive score of 85.5 points. Four years later he won the World Championship for seven-year-old dressage horses, before making a promising Grand Prix debut with his British rider Charlotte Fry in 2020.

For his owner Gertjan van Olst, it’s an exciting win – he first laid eyes on Glamourdale when he was just 10 days old and was immediately convinced of his qualities. With Glamourdale longlisted for the Tokyo Olympics, the future looks bright for this beautiful stallion.

The KWPN Horse of the Year (Jumping) will be announced soon!
