Riding London 52, Laura Colllett produced an outstanding test on Day Two of the dressage phase, scoring 78.70%  to take the lead on 21.3 penalties ahead of Australian Christopher Burton on 22.0 penalties.

“This is the first CCI5* eventing competition for London 52. He was a bit nervous when he entered the track but then he was well focused throughout the test! Of course, the event is not over yet and the cross-country tomorrow will undoubtedly shake up the ranking, but I have confidence in my horses”, said Laura, who is riding 2 horses in the class.

Day two saw Australia’s Kevin McNab ride his second horse, Scuderia 1918 A Best Friend ride into equal 5th place with a score of 24.8 penalties. Kevin McNab was thrilled with the result; saying  “What a star he was! His first 5* test and into 5th in this massive class. Absolutely over the moon with him!”. The score was Kevin McNab’s best dressage result at CCI5*-L level.

With 47 combinations completing the dressage phase, scores are close after 2 days of brilliant performances with just over 5 penalties separating the top 10 on the leaderboard. The Australian riders are well placed as they head into the Cross Country phase, with Chris Burton in 2nd place riding Graf Liberty and Kevin McNab in equal 5th and 9th riding Scuderia 1918 A Best Friend and Scuderia 1918 Don Quidam respectively.

Saturday at Les Etoiles de Paul will no doubt be packed with excitement as the riders and horses tackle the 6.3 kilometre cross country course. Stay tuned!
