The owner of two horses that allegedly had their throats sliced in a “sickening” attack is pleading for information from the public as police struggle to find the culprit.

Police said three horses in the southern Queensland town of Goondiwindi have suffered suspicious neck injuries in two separate incidents since April.
Racehorse trainer Sheree McEwan found one of her racehorses and its companion pony seriously injured in their stables in April.
“They were very clean, very sharp cuts,” Ms McEwan said.
“There was nothing in the yards that could possibly have caused these injuries.
“They were probably about eight to 10 centimetre cuts halfway down the neck. It was very graphic.
“To know that someone has deliberately done this … it just makes you feel sick.”
Ms McEwan said another one of her horses had sustained a similar injury prior to April, but she had written it off as an accident.
She was horrified to hear another trainer’s horse had been injured in the same way at the Goondiwindi racecourse stables a few weeks ago.
“Every injury is getting worse,” she said.
“We don’t know, are we going to come in to [find] a horse deceased in the stable?”
