Ingrid Klimke retires Hale Bob
By Equestrian Life
German eventer Ingrid Klimke has confirmed that her star horse, SAP Hale Bob OLD, will be retired following an injury at a World Championship test event last month.
“SAP Hale Bob OLD was on the German team at the test event for the World Championship in Italy. After a superb first half (on cross country), he contracted a tendon injury on the track between the obstacles. I immediately knew something was wrong and stopped immediately,” said Ingrid following the event.
‘Bobby’ was treated by German team vet Dr. Matthias Niederhofer and will now be rehabbed before heading out to pasture for a well-earned retirement at age 18.
Partnered with Ingrid, the horse has been a powerhouse of the German eventing team, attending a championship every year from 2015 to 2021. Enjoy your retirement, Bobby!
