Last Tokyo Paralympic selection event for Aussie riders wraps up

The last opportunity for Australian-based Paralympic Dressage hopefuls to represent in Tokyo has finished with the final selection trial wrapping up today.

The selection trial was run alongside the prestigious Sydney 3DE, with riders taking to the arena for their individual, team, and freestyle tests across the three days.

Riding to victory uncontested in the Grade II Individual test was Victoria Davies riding Celere with 67.84, after Kellie Tinworth was forced to scratch. Collecting a spectacular score and handing them first place in the Grade III Individual was Emma Booth riding Mogelvangs Zidane with 73.53. In second place in the Grade III was Maddison Cooke riding Byalee Magic II with 60.69. Putting in a solid test in the Grade V Individual to claim first place was Stuart Drysdale riding Blueberry 20 on 64.05, and Amy Blackwood and Royal Delight PE following in second with 53.85.

The riders kept the high scores coming in the Freestyle tests with Victoria Davies and Celere again coming away with the win in the Grade II with 68.30. Emma Booth continued her run of 70-plus scores on Mogelvangs Zidane with 73.59 in the Grade III to win the class. In second was Maddison Cooke riding Byalee Magic II with 62.72. Remaining consistent as well was Stuart Drysdale and Blueberry 20 to win the Grade V class with 65.16.
