Lissa Green places third at Baborówko CCI4*L

By Equestrian Life

UK-based Australian eventer Lissa Green and Katherine Coleman’s Billy Bandit have jumped their way to third place in the CCI4*-L at Equestrian Festival Baborówko in Poland.

“He tried so, so hard today in the final showjumping round,” said Lissa via social media.

“In the warm up, I felt him try hard but the jump didn’t have as much spring as normal (understandable after a long 4* cross country course) so I felt it wise that less was more and only jumped four more fences to warm up – a low oxer – a wide oxer up two more holes – then another oxer with the back rail up six holes. We then did a fairly tall upright on the angle and had it down. Then we went in.

“He jumped the round of his life! Didn’t go near a pole and we moved into a podium position… something I have always dreamed of!”

The pair finished on 41.4 penalties; the class was won by the Swiss combination of Nadja Minder and Toblerone on 34.1.

Congratulations Lissa, what a great effort!
