Mount St John Freestyle back in training with owner Emma Blundell
By Equestrian Life
Mount St John Freestyle, a medal-winning mare from the 2018 World Equestrian Games with Charlotte Dujardin in the saddle, is back in training with owner Emma Blundell.
Charlotte and Mount St John Freestyle took home team and individual bronze medals at the WEG in Tryon, when the mare was just nine years old. Freestyle last competed in May 2021, winning the freestyle at Wellington CDI3* with over 88%, but was not fit to compete at the Tokyo Olympics later that year; Charlotte rode Gio at the Games instead, and again won double bronze.
Freestyle returned to Emma’s Mount St John Stud in Yorkshire last year for breeding, and an embryo transfer foal by current World Champion Glamourdale is now on the way.
Emma has had the 14-year-old Fidermark mare in work to keep her fit, and by all reports she’s going well, with the Paris Olympics now a possible aim.
